Trip (Jan 12)

These past few days I was really busy with school stuff...that's why I didn't blog as often...but I'm back now with some stuff to tell! haha

However, yesterday we went somewhere near Raymondville to the bay in an area called Port Mansfield. I had never been here, but it was a good experience! It was kind of far, about 2 hours away. It was so unexpected, we didn't plan it. My aunt just called us and told us that we should go fishing with her family. Well we followed them and realized we were going somewhere further away from the canals my uncle usually goes fishing to. It was a nice trip over there, I was able to take some pictures of random old building, and of course I took pictures of the water and all that when we arrived. We passed through a whole area of wind turbines those things are huge! I never knew they were that big! It was a pretty cool sight. When we got there we saw a bunch of deer everywhere! It was weird cause we were just there passing by them and they weren't afraid or anything, this was in town where the environment was surrounded by houses and everything. They were just there and I guess they were very common to people in the area, like cats and dogs lol. 

There was no one by the bay, probably cause it was kind of windy and cold haha. We walked around and I went up this little cliff/hill and I had an amazing view up there. The water wasn't too clean though, but then again we were in the bay. We could see a light blinking a few miles off the shore, which was from South Padre Island, the bay was between Texas and the Island. Then of course, when you got to  the island you could see the beach (Gulf of Mexico) on the other side. 

We saw a dock not too far from there and my aunt and I decided to go see if we could go take some pictures there. We walked by the shore and on the way there was saw a huge crab running away from us! Haha it was kind of funny. After about 10 minutes of walking we got there. The dock was attached to this beach house or something like that. There was no one there so we just climbed to the dock and took some pictures. After a few minutes my mom and cousins came to take pictures too. 

When we got back to where the cars were it was getting dark, but we still stayed. My uncle got some fish. For the record, I like fishing but I don't like eating fish haha. 

Soon after that it was pitched black so we decided to go home, it was a nice trip back also. It seemed faster haha. 

Today was an ok day. I only went out to church with my mom and brothers, I hope tomorrow is a good day at school. Finals weeks starts!

Bad Weather

I'm late on this blog...it's now Jan 10, but I'll talk of the things from Jan 9 haha

So it turns out the storm wasn't even that bad. I didn't hear anything and slept through the night just fine. I woke up and it was raining. I was gonna run to the bus stop but it was raining relatively hard, so my mom decided to take me and my brothers to school on the bus. It was just rain, it didn't hail or anything as some people had said. People even put covers on top of their cars to protects them in case. I remember the first time (out of two times) that it hailed last year there were a lot of broken windows. While it hailed all that we would hear were the car alarms going off and the hail hitting the windows of the house.That time was crazy, they even canceled school for a few days I think. During that time we only had two broken windows at our place, not bad considering some people had a lot of water come into their homes, messing up a lot of the things inside. Nothing had happened to our car either, and it was even outside with nothing to cover it!

Well that was early morning. When I got to school it was noticeable that there were some people absent. However, by the end of first period everything seemed to be back to normal, like everyone was there. A lot of people were late though. We kept doing reviews for final exams next week. I'm glad it's and early dismissal week also. The day went well :) But something even better happened today...

I got accepted into Philadelphia University! I checked online and say that my status now said "Accepted"....I felt so good reading that! Now I just need the official letter to come in the mail. So far I've been accepted to UTPA here near me, University of Houston, Texas State University at San Marcos and of course PhilaU. The latter is the only one I applied to out of state...hmm we'll see what happens. I guess there is a chance of attending if I get good scholarships. If not I'll just stay here...

Storm

Well today went pretty well at school, average day. It did wake up kind of windy and rainy, dark gray day. I actually like days like these...I don't know why. Maybe cause I like to take pictures in this type of setting. I prefer these days over sunny days, though it's a close race.

We kept doing study guides for most of the day. We had another substitute for half of the day in some classes, it went pretty good, thought it got kind of boring. I finally sent the paper to fix my transcript for next semester, I hope they make the changes I want. During Clinical Rotation class we laughed as usual in our little group of friends. Pharmacy was about the same, but with other friends since not all have both classes. These two classes were the ones we had a substitute for since our teacher had a family emergency. I hope everything is ok with her.

We're supposed to have some kind of storm today with tornadoes and hail. It's very windy right now, I don't have much time here on the computer since I have to shut it down to avoid any damage to it cause of the storm, so I'll post tomorrow about that day. I hope it goes well, I have a few tests!

Back to School

Well today was the first day of school after out winter break. It had been a nice relaxing break but it felt kind of short. In the past year we would usually get 3 weeks off instead of 2, that changed obviously.
I couldn't sleep last night cause I had changed my sleeping habits during the break haha. I would stay up very late with my brothers sometimes...we would just watch movies and listen to music. By the time I finally got some sleep it was already very late, I ended up getting a total of about two and a half hours of sleep.

In the morning I surprisingly didn't feel too tired. It was kind of cold but everything was ok when I got to school since it was warm inside. It felt good coming back. I had substituted for half of my classes, where we did easy simple work. Me and my friends just played random games after we were done, since we had more than enough time on our hands lol. I did however feel sleepy by the end of the day. After school the south side was out of power for some reason. The hallways looked like we were walking in an underground tunnel. I might make a few changes to my schedule next semester, we'll see how it goes. This is will be the last semester (which starts in two weeks and ends in May) of my high school years. I can't wait to graduate...finally! This year will be full of many changes. I hope everything goes well. It's exciting but weird at the same time, sometimes I feel like yesterday I was a freshman...but now is the second half of senior year. Times goes by fast... Now that we are in the last two weeks all we are doing is final exam reviews. I'll get my exemption letter later this week, I hope I can exempt as many classes as I can.  I have perfect grades averages in Anatomy and Economics, so I'm happy about that, more than likely I'll just exempt those classes. I hope they didn't mess up on my exemption letter like they did in ninth grade and I ended up not being able to exempt anything. Haha everything happens to me. We'll see...

I have more than enough credits already to graduate, but I need to find out what kind of graduation cords (little award cords given at the ceremony) I will be eligible for. I hope I am for at least one or two. I plan on talking to my counselor about this later throughout the week. Since I'll be there I will talk to her about my schedule also.

The pharmacy PTCB is also coming in the following months, so I need to study for that as well. So many things these next few months!

Boring Day

 
 Today I didn't do much. It was a boring, long day. I took care of my brothers while mom was at work, then when she got here she went to church.

Tomorrow we go back to school so today was a day to organize everything for tomorrow...not looking forward to waking up early everyday again, but oh well. It was kind of cold outside so I didn't really go out anywhere today.

Well, I hope tomorrow is a good day at school. Just this semester and I graduate! Times goes by fast sometimes! I'm happy to see my friends again though! :)

First Post! (Introduction)

Hey everyone! 

Well I had seen other people with Blogspot but I had never had an interest in creating one...until now. Yeah, I'm late I guess...

How can I start this? I live in a small city... McAllen, TX. This is an average place, I mean there's things to do but the options are limited as compared to a big city. Texas is very hot, especially during the summer. Temperatures will be over 100 degrees Fahrenheit! But we've learned to deal with it haha. I'm a senior at Nikki Rowe High School...Gooo Warriors! I'm in the whole college application process, it's been stressful. By that I don't mean the applying part, that's the easiest, what I mean is getting scholarships and  deciding where to go. I feel trapped not knowing what will happen or where I will end up going, as of right now I don't know where to picture myself in August. Will I be here attending UTPA or will I be somewhere else in Texas...or out of state? I don;t come from a wealthy family, so I guess picturing myself here is more realistic. But it's not a bad thing to dream, I just have to remember that I have to wake up sometime. Ok I'll get off the subject since it's kind of depressing.

Well I guess I'll talk about what happened yesterday (Jan 5) since it's now Jan 6th...2 AM.
Yesterday I didn't sleep until 5 AM cause I watched movies all night! I slept for like 5 hours and woke up until 10, almost 11. Then I had to quickly get ready to go to the hospital, since I volunteer at Rio Grande Regional Hospital. I find it very interesting, besides helping the community I enjoy being in a medical setting, I would like to pursue a career in the medical field. Initially I had to volunteer a total amount of at least 12 hours to be admitted to a medical related class this school year. After completing the 12 hours I realized that I really enjoyed doing that, so I kept going every Saturday. Now I have about 150 hours.

Besides this I love listening to music of course, I like photography and anything math/science related. I like writing poems and songs also, but I don't do it often anymore. Hmm other random things about me...I enjoy Winter more than Summer, though it's almost a tie between which I like better. I live with my mom and two younger brothers (ages 5 and 11). I'm 18, my birthday is on July 2nd. 

After finishing my 4 hour shift I came home and I slept, since I hadn't slept much the night before. I woke up and we ate McDonalds (I know, so unhealthy lol). Then I chilled with my little brother and now here I am, making my first Blogspot blog...I was bored so decided to do this :) But I find it cool now XD
